About Us
The Hideout Lodge and Guest Ranch is an upscale working guest ranch in Shell, Wyoming, within easy driving distance from Cody, Wyoming, and the East entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The Hideout shares approximately 300,000 acres and 2,000 head of cattle with the 100-year old Flitner Ranch.
In addition to genuine cattle work & scenic trail rides, additional activities like trapshooting, rodeo excursions, barbecues, campfires, an excellent fly-fishing program & overnight mountain horseback riding trips make The Hideout unique as a working cattle ranch-resort.
The Hideout strives for excellence in all departments, yet they truly excel in a professional and authentic staff and their natural horsemanship initiatives. While the guests live the cowboy life during the day, they are sure to be pampered with a selection of upscale lodging accommodations and a gourmet culinary experience throughout their stay.
A maximum capacity of 25 riding guests allows everyone to participate as much as they desire. With a string of 65 horses we assure excellent mounts at all times for our guests - both seasoned riders and beginners alike. Our horses are bred and raised for this challenging terrain and keep our guests safely mounted for a day of herding cattle or fun and exciting trail rides. Other activities include fly-fishing with a professional guide, trapshooting, canoeing, biking, hiking, 4x4 tours & riding lessons are also available.
