We pride ourselves in our ability to serve our communities with relevant local, state, and national news, using multi-media platforms to inform, educate and grow our audience wherever they consume media.  The News Director position at the Big Horn Radio Network leads our on-air and digital news strategy to ensure our communities are kept informed on local and national news.

Experience:
Flexible schedule and ability to support a 24/7 operation
Accurate, real-time coverage of breaking news events by updating on-air, digital platforms, and social media channels 
Research local, national, and global news, and feature stories, cover local municipal organization meetings and other community events
Daily use of audio editing software, podcasting, social media, and other digital platforms to grow audiences and promote website content 
Actively network, cultivate and maintain relationships with local key figures, municipalities, organizations, and community leaders
Direct news content creation and promotion consistent with the company's strategic plan and meet goals 
Produce clear and unbiased on-air and written news, features, and topical content daily
Organize and lead news team to excel in the production of on-air and online news content 
Interface and effectively communicate with clients, community leaders, and employees on a day-to-day basis, in person and through other forms of communication
Additional responsibilities as determined by the management team 
Requirements:
Working knowledge of WordPress, SEO, Microsoft Office products, and social media channels preferred
Strong understanding of journalism, current digital and social media trends, audience demographics and behaviors
Ability to multitask, effectively work with and lead a team, and meet deadlines while keeping in tune with the local community
Capable of taking direction and using personal initiative to reach objectives in a mission first environment
Willingness to learn and grow as an individual, as a team and the ability to place our values of Accountability, Commitment, Trust, Decisiveness and Respect first
