Making A Neighborhood
Heart Mountain Interpretive Center's annual Winter Program Series is back with three more fantastic events! This year we begin with a presentation about our current special exhibit, "Making a Neighborhood."
In the early 1900s, discriminatory housing policies forced African Americans and Japanese Americans together into low-rent districts like J-Flats in East Hollywood. Come hear the heartwarming and heartbreaking stories of how the neighborhood’s founding Black family supported their Japanese American friends who were taken away to Heart Mountain.
The Winter Program Series is an annual series of presentations that take place throughout January, February, and March. Check out our other events to see dates and descriptions for the other two programs.
All events in this series are free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated!
