Jarren Kuipers speaks about the effects of Russian olive removal on small mammals olf populations in Yellowstone National Park at our November 7 Lunchtime Expedition.
Event Description:
Wildlife and Fisheries Biologist Jarren Kuipers presents The Effects of Russian Olive Removal on Small Mammals. Russian olive trees were historically planted in Northwestern Wyoming and have expanded to the point of dominating many riparian habitats. This resulted in the replacement of native habitats and potentially the species that use those areas. Kuipers helps us better understand the implications of removal of Russian Olive on small mammals abundance and species richness.
