Cody Heritage Museum - Historic Flag Raising
Join the Cody Heritage museum for a historic Flag Raising ceremony before the parade in their Heritage Garden.
Paul R Greever (1891-1943) moved to Cody Wyoming in the 1920s where he served as mayor, Buffalo Bill Museum board president, and Wyoming Democratic representative in the US Congress.
Paul also served as 1st lieutenant with the 314th mortar battery 89th division in France after graduating from the University of Kansas in 1917 with a law degree.
The flag that laid over his casket during his funeral in 1943 has been preserved and cherished by his family. Recently, to honor his legacy in Cody, his son has graciously donated this along with some other of his possessions to the Cody Heritage Museum.
We are honored to raise this meaningful and historic to Cody flag on July 4th, 2022 at 8:00 am in celebration of our nations Independence.
Please join us for this special ceremony in our Heritage Garden where we will raise the flag up the original 1917 Buffalo Bill Museum flagpole.
