"Banditti of the Plains" Discussion at the Library
“Shane,” “The Oxbow Incident,” and “The Virginian” are just a few of the books and movies that were influenced by Asa Shinn Mercer’s infamous book, “The Banditti of the Plains.”
Discover more about this incredible man who was a surveyor, a teacher, an immigration promotor, a collector of customs, a ship salvager, a manager of a shipping line, an editor and publisher of books and newspapers from Oregon to Texas and finally, Wyoming, when Historian Clay Gibbons visits the Park County Library in Cody, on Tuesday, February 7th at 6:30 p.m. in Grizzly Hall.
